Pakistan’s Army Chief presented new proposals from the US upon his arrival in Tehran, which are being reviewed: Supreme National Security Council

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has issued a statement on the latest developments regarding the war and negotiations with the United States.

According to the Tasnim news agency, affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, the Supreme National Security Council said that after the visit of the Pakistani army chief to Tehran in recent days, new proposals have been presented by the United States, which Iran is still examining and no final response has been given.

According to the statement, the Supreme National Security Council says that Iran considers itself successful in the war and the United States should change its demands according to this reality.

According to Tasnim, the Supreme National Security Council said that one of its main conditions for accepting the temporary ceasefire was a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon. According to the Iranian position, Israel initially violated this condition by attacking Lebanon and Hezbollah, but after pressure from Iran, Israel expressed its willingness to accept a ceasefire in Lebanon.

‘Shipping in the Strait of Hormuz will be monitored until the war is completely over’

The statement said that if the enemy observes the ceasefire on all fronts, Iran is ready to temporarily open the Strait of Hormuz only to commercial ships. This permission will also be limited to Iranian monitoring, its designated route and only to non-military ships, while military ships of opposing countries will not be exempted from this.

The statement said that most of the supplies to the US military bases in the region pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and this situation is considered a security threat to Iran and the Persian Gulf.

According to the statement, after the enemy’s failure and the resistance of the Iranian people and armed forces, requests for a ceasefire and negotiations began to be received from the US from the tenth day of the war. This was the same war that the US itself started.

Addressing the Iranian people and armed forces, the statement said that the negotiating team has entered the political arena with trust in God and public support in order to consolidate the achievements made in the war.
