More than three hours have passed since Trump announced that US representatives were going to Pakistan for talks, but no Iranian official has yet confirmed or denied whether Iran will participate in the new round of talks.
On the other hand, two Iranian outlets affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard have expressed doubts about Iran’s participation.
The Tasnim news agency said the Iranian team has stressed that they will not participate in the talks as long as the US blockade remains in place.
Fars News Agency, citing Tasnim and an unnamed source, said Iran has yet to decide whether it will join the next round, but Fars did not describe the overall situation as positive.
However, this does not mean that Iran will not participate in these talks. We are still waiting for an official to clarify Iran’s position.
US President Donald Trump has announced that his team will arrive in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, tomorrow evening, Monday, for talks with Iran.
